Default Diesel mechanical fuel pumps

At Whitts-end!!
Please help
I have a 1989 Surburban 6.2L with a "diesel "mechanical" fuel pump just replaced fuel pump. It will turn over but want start up. Can anyone give me some tips on how to prime the pump

Seems like "Witt's End" is a pretty large town. Lots of people live there.

Not sure what engine you have, but if you have a Trbo diesel, then there is a small red button on your engine. You need to press that button several time. It takes the air out of your system. once that is done, you will be able to start the diesel engine.
Well, this is the case for mercedes, so it wont be much difference for other turbo diesels, i think. good luck.
