Help 1988 pickup is running rough and dies
It was runnig fine this mornig to work but on the way home it died went I was at stop light. I then restarted it but it was running rough and uneven and would die out if I took my foot off the gas. I cheecked the plugs, wires and cap. I cleaned the cap and plugs but still have problems. Don't know if it's electrical, fuel , injectors or the engine itself. please help don't know what to do.

Is it TBI? Carb?
Timing chain would of affected it during the trip into work. Sounds to me like you have a fouled plug or PLUGS. Could also be a fuel issue, bad fuel, water in the fuel. Do you SHORT TRIP your vehicle? Does it come to Operating temprature during your trip? Did you check to make sure all the plugs were seated on the top of the plugs on the motor?
Sounds like fuel tho.
I am an information junky sorry, the more i know the less it cost you, haha.

it sounds like a fuel delivery problem. possibly a fuel filter (best case scenario) or fuel pump (worst case scenario).
Although timing chain may be... i just don't think the chain would cause the truck to die when your foot leaves the accelerator.
