I don't know what you are using... some scanners will simply provide a display of the problem code if there is one.

I understand now... here in Canada there are no Autozone places either but we are lucky that scanners are available to purchase.

If the connection tool is working ...then like John86 said check for the power to the DLC circiut is available.
If the ECU is faulty it would giveno responce.

Good luck.

Hi,

thanks for your hints, I checked all fuses, aux and cigar fuses are ok, but I found 2 blowed fuses, first one in the underhood center, the TRL PRK fuse and the second one in the instrument panel fuse block, the one for INT PRK.
I drove some miles, but the light is still on.
I donīt think that the two fuses are the cause, but I hope so:-(
Is there another way to check if my ECM or ECU has a defect?
I checked my scan tool on a dodge ram, and it scans it 100%, after that I checked it at my chevy, I have a connection, but I didnīt get any informations, and no dtc, the tool said MIL is not on, but in the dash it shines and make me nervous...
please help...

Let's try to be clear which light is on .

Is it the Check Engine Light ( CEL) or the ServiceVehicle Soon ( SVS ) light ?

The SVS light won't necessarily give a problem code.

For example...if your tail lights are not working because of a blown fuse the SVS light will be lit and there will be no code.

Hi golfer,

my truck have only the "service engine soon" banner which is on. I know that the trucks for canada have this light not written, there is a engine symbol which will come on.

Hi,

today I found a dealer with a BOSCH scanner, he read out my ECU, now I have a code:-)
P0332 Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2)

Does anyone know what to do? Where is this sensor in the 6.0liter vortec engine? Replace a new one, or cleaning the old??

[hr]

Condition
Some customers may comment on a mild to severe engine ping (commonly referred to as spark knock), usually worse during acceleration and/or an illuminated MIL. Upon investigation, the technician may find DTC P0332 set.
Cause
This condition may be the result of corrosion of the rear bank knock sensor due to water intrusion into the sensor cavity. This condition is more apparent on vehicles in which customers frequently wash the engine compartment.
Correction
Replace the rear bank knock sensor and build a dam (wall) around the sensor using RTV to divert water away from the sensor. Use the procedure and part number listed below.
[ol]Remove the intake manifold. Refer to the Intake Manifold Replacement procedure in the Engine Controls sub-section of the appropriate Service Manual.

Remove the wiring harness assembly from the knock sensor.

Remove the rear bank knock sensor.
Install the new rear bank knock sensor.
Tighten
Tighten the knock sensor to 20N·m(15lbft).
Install the wiring harness assembly to the knock sensor.

Apply a bead of RTV silicone sealant approximately 9mm (3/8in) wide and 6mm (1/4in) high along the outside edge of the ridge on the engine block valley cover around the rear bank knock sensor. DO NOT form a complete circle. Leave the rear section open as shown.
From the underside of the intake manifold, completely remove the rear intake manifold seal (foam material).
Install the intake manifold. Refer to the Intake Manifold Replacement procedure in the Engine Controls sub-section of the appropriate Service Manual. [/ol]
