Default Noise

have a 2001 s10 4wd truck, When driving ( normal 2wd ) the truck will start to make hum / whine noise from right front side
The noise gets progessively louder as the veh slows, the noise also slows as the veh does, If I press the 4wd button, the noise
stops, press the 2wd button again and it starts up again, the problem does not happen all the time but it does happen frequently
The bearings, on that wheel have been replaced already, anyone have any idea what the probable cause might be?

totaly baffled

Sound like it could be a wear indicator on the brakes... have you checked the pads to see how worn they are?

might be in the 4WD mec in that wheel. If the noise stop when you put it into 4wd, then i would believe it is related.
