power door locks
'2000 Astro, LT, 45K miles, Recent purchase. Problem with door locks, hope you can help.
No matter whether the keyless entry system is used or the electric door switches are used the front doors do not lock or unlock. The manual lock buttons attempt to lock and unlock, at least they move a little. Battery has enough juice. No optional equipment is on board. Has the factory alarm. The vehicle can be locked with the manual buttons or key lock with no problem but we would like to be able to use the remote feature.
Your assistance is appreciated.
thanks,

replace your door lock actuators they are very weak

You need to diagnose the problem not just throw parts at it.
It could be a wiring problem instead of the actuators which putting new actuators on wouldn't fix anything. It would be best if you could find a wiring diagram to look to see which wires would have power on them and etc.
You could get lucky and put actuators on there and it fix the problem but then you could waist that money when it doesn't fix the problem and all the fix was just a loose connection.
Just trying to help a brother out and not have to waist money.
