My dad's trucks rear axle seems makes a noise and a bump feeling when acceleration after a complete stop. Any ideas on what this problem could be?

Djcoops, the best way 2 see if & what the problem with the diff is 2 put the truck on stands & remove the rear cover. inspect the ring gear/pinion/spider gears etc.
