Yeah, because I changed mine when I got my hoe (at a little over 100k). Knocking on wood, but now I have 170k on it and haven't had any problems with leaks or anything else like that. I even took off a bolt from the block (the one used to drain the fluid) and didn't notice any corrosion or build-up inside the block. I thought that the dex-cool stuff was suppose to be the extended interval antifreeze that would last up to 100k. So is the new dex-cool okay now or is it the same formula? Should it be avoided?

from what i've read and heard, the new stuff is way less toxic. new stuff should be ok. me being old school tho, i like the old green stuff.

My local supplier no longer stocks the green . I was recommended a coolant specially formulated to help the longevity of aluminium parts, its red (not orange) and a local mechanic who specialises in American cars uses it in all his Chevys.

When it comes to replacing coolant, it's Prestone.
