Question will this combo work

alright fellas first of all. Yes a 3-0-fried. Ok now that that is out of the way. i need a professional opinion. 305ci, hooker headers with 1-5/8"x30"Primary Tubes and 3" collecters, 2 1/2" pipes dumped off under the front seat. No mufflers. Edelbrock performer dual plane intake mani topped with a with a edelbrock 650cfm four barrel. set of 350 58cc closed chamber heads 1.84 intake/1.50 exuast valves cast#14022601. Hasting Moly Rings , Federal Mogul flattop Hypereutectic Pistons, Clevite Rod Brgs, Clevite Main Brgs, Clevite Cam Brgs, Melling High Volume Oil Pump, Cloyes TRUE Roller Timing Components, Pioneer Frost Plugs, Crane Energizer Camshaft and Lifter Kit 278 Dur. .467 Lift 110 lobe sep.
will the combo be sufficient for some road play? am i going to run into any problems with thtis combo? is the cam too big? should i go with say around .450? Any help would be greattly appreciated! Thanks fellas!

Sounds like the power's OK:

Performance costs money

You'll inevitably find someone faster than you, eventually.

What are you running this combo in ? a Monte Carlo? It's hard to get an idea of the power/weight ratio if we DNK what the vehicle body is...

yes its a 79 montecarlo approx. 3600lbs. stock tranny,crank,rearend.

Something you have to beware of is will that stock tranny take the punishment of a high torque engine. Also are the connecting rods on the pistons stock or did you upgrade those as well. Torque can also weaken the connecting rods It would be a shame if you put all the time and effort into the motor to snap a connecting rod.

No matter how you slice it, if you're going racing, legal or not, take that initial investment and times it by at least five to get your end cost.

Performance aint cheap, and winning costs a fortune.

hahah nah im not going racing in the 3-0-fried. just alil road play and hopefully some rubber burning.
