'07 Impala Knocking When Turn AC OFF
45k miles, whenever I have the AC on for any length of time then turn it off, there is a knocking sound coming from the passenger side that lasts a minute or two then stops.
There is no sound when AC is on and it cools normally. Ive searched but could only find info on compressor noises. any thoughts? thanks.

Depending on your mileage you may still be under the 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty which should cover you for this fix, under normal circumstances. I would suggest that you have your vehicle looked by your local dealership as they would be able to diagnose and repair the vehicle best. I hope this helps you. If you continue to have issues please feel free to contact me.

Posted this same problem on here just the other day for my 09 with 47 K on it. Same exact noise. Dealer fixed it for $ 230.00 bucks, about 3 hours wait time. Called it an air inlet actuator # 15844096. Wish I had seen this video first. Thanks for info, saved to favorites, service guy said it is a common problem.

i had the same problem, it turned out to be air flap actuator, had to take the whole dash board apart to get to the part, it cost me 50 dollars for the part. but now my remote fob does not work once we put the whole dash back together.
I tried to resync it but the REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE will not display

I had the same problem.
The guy gave me these two drawings and said the one on the far right is the recirculation actuator and the one towards the center is the mode blend actuator. While purchasing the blend motor actuator the GM dealer told me that I could not return it.(-50) Problem continued for me. Problem stop after I disconnected the recirculation actuator; I purchase it tomorrow. These drawing cost me additional fee (-23). Total: so far (-73) Hope this help. I have the part (blend actuator) I couldn't return for sale ($30) if anyone needs it. Look on Craig's list. Also, here's a link to detail way to fixing it:http://www.denlorstools.com/autoblog...epair-article/ Hope this help.
