2003 Impala - Popping Noises from Dash on ACCEL/BRAKE
Hey,
I have an '03 Impala - 3.8L - 107,000 miles.
On braking and acceleration, I hear popping noises coming from the dash, perhaps originating near the firewall.
I heard popping noises from the dash are common in the Impalas, like most of you, I don't put up with ticks/squeeks and must find it and fix it quick. Please provide some insight as to what it coudl be, and how I would go about fixing it.

It's gotta be the knuckle in the intermediate steering shaft. Mine did the same thing. Needs grease.
Do a google search on impala intermediate steering shaft, i found a couple of websites with
pictures and detailed instrucions on fixing it. You can do it yourself with a 5 dollar can of spray lithium
grease.
