Default Removing the resonator?

Hi, first of all i'm new to this forum.

I'm the owner of a 2001 Impala LS (3800) for about a year now.

I was thinking about removing the resonator since it's rusted and leaking a bit,
it does make a ****ty leaking sound not loud but annoying.

My idea was to remove it and put a straight pipe instead of it.

But i'm wondering if it's gonna be too loud or not gonna sound nice.

Anyone ever tried it? i've search on YouTube for resonator less Impala's but only found Impala's with full custom exhaust line.

That was my fist question, second question is about the oil.

This car was my dad's car since 2002, oil changes were made every 6000 - 7000 km (3700 - 4400 miles) with ''regular'' 10W30 oil

Now the car has 150 000km on it (93 200 miles)

Is it too late to switch to Syntec oil? i'm doing the oil changes myself and I was thinking about switching to Castrol 10W30 Syntec oil

Does it worth the extra $$ ?

Thanks.

Here's a picture of my ride;

I dont have a resonator on both of my cars. It will give you more of a drone sound in the car, but I dont think its too bad. Id look at replacing the UBend as well.

The oil, you should be fine.

Nice thanks.

I'm gonna do this in the next days.

I've also bought a short ram air intake.

Gonna post pictures when it will be done
