Default 2008 Impala SS Radio Issue

I have a 2008 Impala SS and I am having an issue with the radio. The front door speakers keep cutting out. I am wondering if this is a "common" issue with a readily available fix. If anyone can shed some light on this I would be most appreciative.

It happened to mine but the problem worked itself out I guess. Do you radio or CD?

Both. The problem stays the same no matter which is being played.

Going to bite the bullet and let the dealer look at it next time I take it in for service.

Maybe. If you got new speaker wiring along with new speakers. I know the Bose audio sounds great but getting new speaker wiring maybe the only way to fix it.

it can only be the radio, wiring or speakers with the radio being the most likely culprit. its unlikely that 2 separate, individual speakers and wiring would go out at the same time.

one hour diagnostic time will probably pay for a new aftermarket radio. New oem radios are probably $400 plus installation and programming.

if you go aftermarket radio, you will need a chime module to keep the warning and signal chimes functional.

I should know what is going on this Friday. I ordered a new factory unit (unlocked) and it should be delivered Friday. This one has the 6 CD changer so it is still a bit of an upgrade while being plug and play.

Well, the new radio is in and the problem is still there. Time to let the dealer have a look. Stay tuned.

do you have the uq3 radio option? check the build sheet on the spare tire cover. this model has an amp that is the output to the speakers. if yes, are both the front door speakers and tweeters not functioning?
