Default 3.8 tranny problems

Hey all,
im sure you've been over this a million times and ive done extensive research but the tranny in my 05 is like a neutral drop at take off and sometimes does it from 2nd to 3rd shift. I took to a very good transmission shop and he said it was seals that shrink and cause a loss in pressure which makes it do that. I have since seen that it could be a pressure control selinoid. Tell me why I cant use any other transmission with this car. I can buy another 05 today for $500 blown head gasket but its the 3.4. I have access to a totaled 07 buick lucerene with a good 3.8 and tranny. I really don't want to buy this other car unless I can somehow make the tranny fit. ANY AND ALL INPUT IS WELCOME THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
