Default Cruise Control

Just to let everyone know about the behaviour of the cruise control in my 2014 Impala 2LTZ. I was travelling down the interstate doing a respectable 70-ish. All of a sudden this small car, could be a Mini, flew by even though I was doing a respectable 70-ish and cut back in really close in front of me. Everything was fine until I realized my speed dropped to about 58 and the car cutting back in, in front of me possibly caused the cruise control I was set and running on to disengage. While not a big deal, it just surprised me at the time and was just a matter of hitting the resume button to be at my cruising speed again.

Hmmm, I've never used it.. You have the regular cruise control? No ACC?

Did the collision detection go off?

I guess you didn't accidently touch the brake?

I have the regular cruise and no ACC.

The collision detection did go off, beeped and displayed the red flash on the windshield.

When that happened, I was thinking how that other guy cut back in too close and triggered it, but it wasn't until a few seconds later that I found the speed dropping. I don't believe I touched the brake.

So that was probably it... collision detection disables cruise... I doubt I'll ever have that happen.

Sledge, it wasn't until you mentioned the collision detection warning that I recalled the collision detection getting triggered. I could see it happening in heavy traffic, but when this happened, the highway was relatively empty except for me and this other "driver" in the small mini.
