Default Looking at K5's need advice

Hi,
I'm new to the forum as I am looking to purchase a K5 Blazer. I have always loved the K5's and am open to 1970's to 80's models. I am looking for input on the various model years. Are there certain model years to look out for...good or bad.

There are some 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988 models available in my area in my pricerange and just curious if there are certain things I need to look out for.

I believe that those model years are pretty much the same, so I would pick the best deal.

mudmaniac - thanks for your help.

One of the blazers is almost 100% original with 130,000 miles, the other has a Jasper motor (350 I think) and transmission has been replaced - has also done some other off road additions...skid plating, suspension lift, larger tires.

I like the one with the lift, but was wondering about the fact that the motor and transmission have been replaced...should I take this as a good sign (newer motor) or bad sign (indicates the vehicle has been abused in the past???).

I appreciate the input!

I would consider it a good thing, my 383 is a Jasper motor.
I would go after the one that has the most mods you want already done.
Be sure to take it for a ride if possible.

absolutley will take it for a drive before deciding.

I noticed that the driver side rear is sitting lower than the rest of the car. Is this a simple repair to the suspension lift or something costly?

Possibly a busted shock on that corner, at worst it may be a twisted frame.
