1999 Malibu Ignition cylinder problem
I had my 1999 Malibu running the other day when my son yanked the ignition key out of the ignition while the engine was on and running. It was an accident and I was surprised it came out so easy while running. The next day when I tried to start it the key goes in all the way and does not turn. I tried the secondary key as well and the same thing happen as the first one did. What can I do to correct this? I have repaced GM ignition cylinders before years back but this one looks tricky. I also sold GM tumblers when they where uncoded and had to code them with tumblers. This was a long time ago for I know most of you never seen a bare GM IGNITION LOCK UNCODED.

I am hoping to receive a reply for I am stranded at work and need to get this running soon to get home later.I would call a locksmith but I think that will cost a few hundred to repair. I know if I can take this apart, I can get this running again, I hope.ftw52
