Default Buzzing noise increases with speed

I currently have a 2009 chevy malibu hybrid. Just recently I noticed when I hit speeds of about 30mph there is a buzzing noise coming from somewhere around the engine. As I increase in speed the noise gets faster and louder. There is no change in the noise when I turn the car left and right so I don't think it is a wheel bearing. I need knew tires but I don't believe it is the tires humming. Anyone else have this problem

Welcome to the the forum

Could be an exhaust leak
Maybe a loose heat shield
possible wind noise from the strips around the windshield

Might check the air cleaner and make sure its secure

Do you have a bug deflector installed?

Just some ideas

When the car is in park and the engine is revved it is normal and I can't see any holes in the exHaust. The noise gets faster and louder as you speed up and will slow when you slow down. Possibly a bearing in the transmission? I have no idea.

I had a similar noise and it was the power brake booster pressure tube hitting against the firewall. GM has a service bulletin on it.

Hi Hopp1234,

I see that you are experiencing concerns with a buzzing noise in your 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. If you'd like to take your vehicle into the dealership, I'm happy to assist with scheduling an appointment. Please send me a private message here on the site. Thank you!

I'm experiencing this same issue in my 2012 Malibu LT. I see the OP didn't come back with what it was. Any ideas or suggestions?
