Fuel/Air Mixer Problem
My wife has a 1999 Malibu (4 cylinder) and has never had any problems in the past.
Recently, I was driving car and the exhaust pipe turned cherry red right before the catylitic converter. Reemed out converter completely in the attempt to clear.
Then the engine was still running very rough and could bearly keep it running at idle and even worse when put into gear. Tune up was done and still having the same problem (replaced coil pack, plugs). Now when it runs, engine still runs rough and popping from exhaust. Odor of raw gas fumes present when running. Air flow module working. IS THERE AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE THAT CONTROLS THE THROTTLE BODY??? H E L P please.
