So last september i purchased a 1998 chevy lumina ltz from a dealer with 140k for $3000 its a great car in fantastic shape but now its starting to develope a problem..

It wont start unless you have your foot on the gas.
stuttering when your stoped at a stop light

The stuttering has nothing to do with it being in gear it will do it even in any gear even park or n.

What ive done so far.

Seafoamed the vacume lines.
Changed pcv
Changed iac
Changed fuel filter
Changed fuel pressure regulator
Ran numerous bottles of fuel injector cleaner
Disconnected removed and cleaned the egr valve and as much of the lines as i could with about 6 cans of carb cleaner and 2 tooth brushes.

The very first thing i did was clean the Egr it took the problem away for about 2 weeks then returned it also throws a egr code about every week..

Show i try cleaning it again?
So now im out of ideas..

My lumina LS had similar problems, but just stopped working at all. I searched online and found out that my Fuel Pump inside the gas tank had gone. One of the biggest head aches to work on since i had to drop the tank and the pump was inside the tank. After i put in the new one and after an hour of realigning the tank my car started like nothing. Good luck with this job i suggest 2 things if you do decide to try the fuel pump.
1. Do not attempt to do this job on your own have at least 2 others help you.
2. Do not have a full tank of gas when you start this job :-( Like i did....

So i replaced my egr with a junk yard one yesterday.. the egr has acualy gotin stuck open this time and its completly fixed now also gave the car a tune up runs like a dream now
