ok everyone i just replaced a rear wheel cylinder and tried to bleed it and i'm only getting small amounts of fluid and no peddle to speak of and when i get one it goes soft and soon as i apply pressure

its a 1996 lumina with 4 lines coming from the mater cylinder

In case you're still working on this, you may have air trapped in the master cylinder bore. The floating secondary piston divides the bore into two fluid chambers, one for the front brakes and the other for the rear. If there's air trapped in one or both chambers, the pedal action will just compress the air against the spring tension without generating fluid pressure where it's needed.

You should start at the master cylinder, and bleed at least both back brakes cylinders.

thanks guys tried the MC but it was bad replaced it and now its doing fine

Thanks for the update. Did a seal give away or something? I've had it happen to me one time on an old Saturn when the pistons apparently got to the section of the bore beyond the normal travel and messed up the seals.

yea the seal was bad i may try and rebuild it keep it for my 98 but not sure as of yet
