Default 86' K20 Scottsdale starting problems

The problem is... It wont turn over. Key in and clutch down I can hear a click and I try to start her and occasionally she tries just a bit to turn over. Any advice on what may be the issue?

Also the battery is brand new as the folks I bought her from had a small car battery in instead of a larger truck battery.

Thanks in advance all!

could be your alternator, goto auto zone and have it tested for free, they will have to charge the battery to test.

Check both battery cables for corrosion and loose connections. Do this at both ends of the cables.

I am having a similar problem. There is no chuckling sound, it starts to try and turn over but doesn't. Almost sound like a week battery. However I have a brand new battery, new alternator, I burnt up a fusable link when I changed the alternator. But I have bypassed that with a online fuse from the battery. Anyways. It will start sometimes.
But after it starts and I drive it somewhere it won't start for a while after I turned it off.

Anyways I'm new and don't know how to make a new thread.

Check the starter relay, starter solenoid and the starter.
