Exclamation 1969 Chevrolet Camaro

1969 Z28 Camaro - DZ302 with Cross Ram You know when a car comes with a story that it has to be something special. This 1969 Camaro is extremely unique and torn right out of the history books. In additional to being all numbers matching it has some unique options and features. It's the type of car that should be in a museum and shown to the world as a unique point in Camaro history. You can bet a lot of collectors out there have a 69 Z28 Camaro in their fleet but there are only a few who have the DZ302 or have even heard of that model. The interesting thing about the DZ302 was not only Chevys answer to the Ford 302 found under the hood but the special ordered cross ram set up that was mated with it. This is where the car you see here could arguably be even more unique than other DZ's out there. When ordered from the factory the DZ was shipped out with the cross ram manifold and carburetor system mounted in the trunk. Then, upon arriving at the dealership the system was installed prior to the buyer picking it up. This car followed that same timeline but was driven home from the dealership before the cross ram was installed therefore it is still sitting in the trunk just like it was from the factory! Now that is cool! Many people have never seen a DZ Camaro and even less have seen them in the factory released version. All of this sounds great but we all know it comes down to being able to prove this to be true. Well..... Lets talk numbers: VIN: 124379N597991 Trim Tag: 69 12437NOR260295 711 72 72 02B X-33 D-80 Block casting: 3956618 Block casting date: B-03-9 Block front pad: 19N597991 #V0203DZ Heads: 3927186 Crank: 3941178 Intake: 3932472 Cross ram casting: 3941126 Carburetors: 4295 Transmission: POM10A Rear end casting: E239 Brake booster: 661 Master lines: 309 Steering box: 7803696 Z/28 THIS CAR IS ALL ORIGINAL! Original date coded glass Original seat belts and shoulder harnesses (dated 34A) Original Black Standard Interior AND IT HAS OPTIONS! Factory console with gauges Factory tachometer Factory spoilers N-44 quick ratio steering cowl induction hood In addition to its interesting history the car is just an all around great driving muscle car. The Orange with Black striped body has that classic Camaro look that every body loves. You just can't think muscle car without picturing at least 1 Camaro in there. All of the chrome is in good condition as is the stainless trim which is all there. The blacked out front grill nicely sits behind the headlights and help give that iconic front end its tough look. As mentioned in the paragraph above, the car is powered by a Chevy 302 motor that is all numbers matching and factory original to this car. The block is a standard bore as is the crank on the rods and mains. It has pink rods and 202 heads with studs and guide plates. The engine runs extremely strong with no smoking issues, noises, rattles, or anything else to be concerned about. It is backed up by a M22 Muncie Rockcrusher 4 speed transmission that was actually built in June of 1970. This is the only non date/# matching component on the car. This sends power back to the all original 12 bolt positract rear end with 410 gears and leaf springs. The interior of the car is all original and considering it is 44 years old is in excellent condition. The bucket seats are very comfortable and sit to each side of the factory optioned center console. A tilt wheel is in place and topped with a woodgrain steering wheel. A heater is in place which is in perfect working condition and is sure to keep you warm cruising around on those colder nights. The car came original with an AM/FM radio and 8 track player and you can bet they are still there and working like new. Own a piece of American Muscle Car history for $74,500.00!
