'03 S10 Suspension questions
Hi All,
New member here with some questions about my 2003 S10. For the most part it's a good truck but the suspension is really bad, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth the money to repair/replace it or not. It has adjustable air shocks that I think were added by the previous owner, but driving the truck on even a moderately bumpy road can cause spinal injuries. So here are my questions:

For the most part it's a good truck but the suspension is really bad, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth the money to repair/replace it or not. It has adjustable air shocks that I think were added by the previous owner, but driving the truck on even a moderately bumpy road can cause spinal injuries. So here are my questions:
- How much will adding more air to the shocks smooth out the ride? I don't own an air compressor, so the most I've been able to add has been the 70 or 80 psi I can get at the tire pump at the gas station. It says the max is 200.
- Would I get a smoother ride with standard shocks instead of air shocks? I don't do any heavy duty hauling.
- What parts would give me the most improvement at the lowest cost? I haven't done much suspension work in the past.

air shocks are DEF an after market addn...S10 didnt come "stock" that way..in my opinion, adding air only makes it worse..it "stiffens" the ride...also remember, trucks NEVER ride as "smooth" as a car..also, a cracked rear leaf that may be un noticible "could" exacerbate a perceived poor ride...me, I'd try some dummy weight in the box-see if it helps any..if it does, TRASH those air shocks and ger OEMS on there
