'86 S10 2.5L EST error code 42
#3
I recently had code 42 on my 88 S10 4.3L. In a roundabout way here's what I had to do to fix it:
Replaced Distributor with another from junkyard>
Located the single wire that disengages the computer from timing the spark (brown/w black stripe, inside cab under dash by the heater) it was unplugged? probably cuz someones foot kicked it.-Plug it back in.
Unhooked negative battery post for 20 secs.
Thats what I did to fix my #42 issue.
