Default Brake lights not working

I have a 2000 S10 3 door - 2.2L - 5 Speed

I went to get it inspected today and the brake lights didnt work

the turn signals work fine, but the emergency flashers dont work

brake liight fuse seeds to be good (power going through it)

anyone have this problem before? could it just be the brake light switch? its a little thin white box with a pin attached to the brake lever

thanks
JT

to be honest, I can't remember the last time I needed to change a brake bulb.

If they were the same, then you'd only have one brake light if you were using the signal at the same time?

Could be the brake switch too.

with the turn signals working, but not the brake lights or hazard lights... the only thing I could think of was the brake light switch

on the 2000 S10 it's up under the dash attached to the brake pedal arm.... not easy to get to...

ordered a new one and after swearing at it a few times got it out and the took care of the problem...

Good DEAL...thread solved....yeah...most brakelite switches in any vehicle are a PITA to replace... I had a dickens of a time w/the one on my Chrysler 300M getting the new switch mounted properly so that the plunger activated the brakelites neither on too soon or too late
