Okay, How can I be 100% sure my fan clutch is good or bad?
When I cold start it the fan starts out already making noise as if I had driven it on a hot day. After driving it 1/2 to 3/4 miles it returns to normal.
Should this be the norm? Should it be just opposite due to the cold start?

Most of the time the fan will engage for a little while on start, but usually by the time you get on the road, it clutches out.

My truck does the same sometimes, Isnt there a temp sensor that controls it?

It is normal. The viscus fluid in the clutch settles at the bottom of the clutch when it sits. As long it goes away it is normal

There shouldn't be any leakage from the clutch,
don't confuse it with a water pump leak, as both fluids can be slippery to the touch.

There should be very little to no lateral movement at the bearing

There should be no roughness when you rotate the fan manually (with engine off of course)
