Iac valve
I have a 96 s10 4.3l x with 160k. I'm planning on cleaning the throttle body, egr valve, and iac valve. Mainly because it has a very slight hesitation at idle and only some of the time. Plus I've got the time.
My question is can I clean the iac valve? My haynes says not to jse any solvents or cleaners because it's an electrical componat but I've found you tube videos where thry spay the heck out if it. I don't know if they have the same 1 though.

Could be. You could tru cleaning all of those. If you haven't changed your plugs or wires in a while that could help too.
I git my truck scaned at o'reily's after cleaning all that stuff
I got an o2 sensor bad which is causing it to run rich. I can smell it too.
Hesitates less. It wasnt much to begin with and the only reason i did anything about it was cause it's a new to me truck and i had the time.
If i were you i'd get it scanned and clean all that stuff for the hell of it.
