My truck is running rough
I have a 2001 S10. I know it needs plugs and wires but I am trying to find out if there is another issue.
It runs fine when it idles and when I rev it up and it seems ok when I am coasting. The problem is when I am accelerating it runs rough.
Is it the plugs and wires causing that or is there another issue?

I had the rear tires balanced, they were new and weren't balanced before, still drives rough.
It starts vibrating at around 45mph. A couple months ago the truck was under water up to the headlight for about 20 min. I was told that it may have been possible that water got into the axle and messed up the oil.
Is that true? Could it happen after only 20 min? Would that cause the vibration? How can I check?
Thank you.

If you dont have any code or if its a misfire code I would look into the plugs, wires.. I have seen about five cars and or trucks only misfire on a pull and it was plugs more than wires.. If you have leaking wires you can see at night just by looking for and sparks on the wires it will show you cracks or brakes in wires. Thats if it is a spark issue. The more I read I see you said that vibration starts at 45mph is there any noise like a humming? water may have gotten under the dust cap or into and started rusting the wheel bearing but they make noise as well most of the time.

yeah could be, I had a set go bad, I think it was rear set. I had bad vibration at well before 45mph, but it did get worse when accelerating. Also if its the u-joints you should hear kinda a clank or bang when going from park to gear if its an Auto tranny.

Thanks for all the replies.
I figured it was the u-joints so I took it to a shop.
The replaced the rear u-joints and rebuilt the rear portion of the drive shaft.
Turns out that when my truck was lowered it caused the drive shaft to be at several different angles causing stress to the drive shaft assembly.
