Default Temp sending unit?

Hi, new here. So just wondering if this is the temp sending unit? It's the one that goes to the temp gauge? 1996 S10 4.3, 4x4.

Thanks.

It should be located either near you thermostat housing, or directly above your exhaust manifold. Since that looks to be a coolant return hose , I'd say it might be. Pull it out and see if it's stained green or orange.

That looks like it. To verify, unplug the electric cable and see if there is any difference in the gauge.
