Any one know what this connector is for? It's under the air intake cover by the throttle body. It's a new truck for me and I don't have any manuals for it yet.
96 s-10 4.3L 5spd 160k
The oil pressure gauge doesn't work(It's pegged way past max pressure with power on). Any chances that's it? I couldn't find a spot it would go into.

I would be willing to bet the key is in that shiny new Ac compressor. There is suppose to be a high pressure cut off switch in the back of the Ac compressor. When the compressor is replaced it must be removed from the old compressor and put in to the new one. It is done by removing the snap ring then pulling it out. The new compressor will have a cap in the back held in by a snap ring. There should be 2 total plugs on the compressor. One by the pulley for the clutch and one in the back.

Here's the back of the compressor. No spot for a plug. I'm not seeing the snap ring. Maybe because it's an aftermarket comp it didn't come with a spot? There is the 1 plug on the compressor on the top just behind the pully.
For some reason it won't let me upload the picture today but you can see the back of the compressor on this other forum.

Can not see the back of the compressor in your picture. It goes 100% opposite side of the pulley. Not on the top. AC will not work with out it. See #6 in this picture

Ok I found the snap ring. It was kinda hard to see back there. It's a b!tch to get at. I'll put a little more effort in today to get to it. The AC has been working fine without it though. Thanks for the help
