Default oil filter oil cooler lines repair

my neighbor has a i think it is a 97 blazer 4x4 4.3 auto and the oil cooler lines rusted to the point of a medium leak. i was going to just help them replace the complete line set but now i'm wondering if it is possible to just cut out the bad section and get some h/p oil rated hose and just splice that hose in the bad section? i figure doing a small flare to help keep the hose from just slipping off the line. can anyone tell me if this is a possible fix. the kid has no money and if i help it will be a freebe but he is saving now for another car and will be junking this one at that time so putting a bunch of new parts on it now is pointless.

also he has a misfire and the code is set to po302 and also the p0200 i think it may be p0202 but i told him it sounds like he has a bad injector. anyway i wonder if i can just replace one injector? i see them seperate .or is there some type of quick fix that is a get me by? to by him time for another car? thanks

Yes you can replace sections of the oil cooler lines with hose and hose clamps. Make sure you get hose rated for transmission fluid.

thanks i sent that along to the kid so he can make up his mind. if he want to do this i will help him out he is not real mechanical. i figure it could be done but had to make sure because i do not know what pressure that oil cooler has on it. i'm leaning on return oil pressure from the filter and that is not or should not be real high.
