Default wiper motor removal

hey guys im having a hell of a time trying to remove the wiper motor on my 97 silverado i cant get the wiper arm linkage to stop rotating so i can get the last nut off the motor any helpful tips on how i can get it?

just curious, why are you changing it? I had a recall on my 95. There may be one on yours. There was something wrong with the circuit soldering causing it to stop running durning use.

Which nut are you trying to remove? If it's the one holding the crank arm onto the motor, it should not be removed. Here's the procedure for removing the motor unit:

[ol]Remove the wiper arms.
Remove the air inlet grille panel.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the motor.


Important
Do not remove the crank arm.

Loosen the nuts attaching the drive link brackets to the crank arm.
Remove the brackets from the wiper motor crank arm.
Remove the three bolts and the wiper motor from the vehicle. [/ol]

If the thing just quit working, the it is probably the circuit board. No need to remove the entire thing.
