Default Turbo Charger on a 03 Silverado 5.3L

Hello everyone, my name is devin and this is my first post in this forum. First off i have a 2003 Silverado Stepside SingleCab with the 5.3. Only modifications made thus far are pacesetter shortie headers, eastern high flow cats, flowpro cat back exhaust and a volant cai. The motor is about due to be rebuilt and id like to make the motor as mean as possible ( cam, heads, etc, etc ). My first question is will a moderate to mild cam work with a turbo system, second what all needs to be definately upgraded before i can even think about slappin one of these things on there.
