Default Cabin air filter - Avalanche?

hello all, does an 04' Avalanche 1500 have a cabin air filter? If so where the h**l is it located. The NAPA parts book shows a #4814 filter , the instruction sheet that comes in the box shows it's under the dash r-h side after removing the "hush panel" . .. been in there, no filter access door that I can see !!! HELP PLEASE

Default Filter

Starting in the 2003 model year, the passenger compartment air filter is no longer available as a factory option. With the redesigned HVAC case, the opening for the filter cavity no longer exists.

Oh i see. That's why my dad can't seem to locate that cabin air filter cuz he has the 04 avalanche.. He was relentlessly searching for it. Didn't know that it was no longer available for the latest models..
