yes but 2.8L have a way less power . in some way , less hp you have , less fuel economy you get.

anyway 2.8 have less fiability then the 4.3L. and 4.3 is easier to find for a smaller price.

If you want more facts on the 4.3's,it's sticky in the G/T section.

The 4.3 do have their own set of issues. The fact that these 4.3's are only a V8 with two cylinders cut off is mis-guided.The truth is the split crankshaft offsets the connecting rods to the the bores and edge ride on the rod bearings. This also creates a situation of either even fire or odd firing. If you center the rods to the crankshaft then the piston is offset and the piston skirt rocks in the bore creating fiction. This is the main reason when I drag raced a 4.3 I elected to buy a bowie block, forged common pin crankshaft and aluminum big port heads.Costly???.Sure was,but the spit crankshafts that are O.E.M.are not very durable. If a upgrade to a stock 4.3 is the goal, then 4.3's are the way to go.Anything beyond that, not so much.Well not without spending thousands as I did and learning from that burning feeling of my wallet.
