Exclamation my oil pan is playing the snare drums :(

I has a 1974 chevy impala. It has a 350 w/ 2 barrel Holley remanufactured carb.
Now the problem is it pings knocks off and on mainly at idle. it took me a while to finally give up and say it's not getting enough fuel.
First I changed the oil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor and set the timing a couple times and got it where I want it, but still there is the problem with not getting enough fuel. I have backed out the a/f mix screws as much as I can with out having the car stall too much.
Any suggestions??? other than just getting a bigger carb
I Wonder I can put a electric fuel pump or a high flow on a stock 2 barrel
BTW: I was running 89 when this was happening, but for now I'm gonna run 93 with octane booster that should help.
