Default Car seat Recommendation

I am looking to take advantage of the expertise on this board. My friend's son is 11 months old, 19 1/2 lbs and almost 30 inches tall. I am planning to give him a car seat as a birthday gift. What convertible seats would you recommend?
By the way, my friend drive Chevrolet Aveo.

I have never seen a child seat thread on this forum yet.

I say go with evenflo. It seems to be highly recommended by the IIHS.

Britax, all the way. Safe, and easy to install, comfy for kid. Latch and belt. Good til kid is 5 or 6 or big enough for booster.

Forgot to add that you'll want to choose based on what type of seat material you have. Leather or vinyl, you'll definitely want to get something that doesn't leave marks or creases on it.

BRITAX!! That is all we buy for my daughter.....It is, as far as I know, the only company to test the seats @ 65mph. We are currently in the convertable booster now, but the other seats were great, my daughter never cried about the seats hurting her.
