Smile moyor swap 96 monte z34

i have a 1996 monte carlo z34 with 170000 miles, lots of up grades ,just put a new trans and aftermarket cruse on it, and low and behold now have a blown head gasket, what i would like to know is , is there a difference in the 4.3 motor from a front wheel drive with auto trans, and lets say a 4.3 motor out of a s 10 pickup with rear wheel drive, i know the trans on both are different, but is the block assembly bolt up to the trans the same, what i would like to do is just put a stock none overhead cam motor in the car, for a daily driver, the z34 motor is very hard to work on and i would rather have a lets say stock 4.3 out of a rear wheel drive s 10. any help would be appreciated..........thanks Register today for free or log-in if already registered to remove this ad!

There is no FWD 4.3L V6. You would not be able to use a 4.3 in your car.
