My race partner and I where in the early days actively involved in buying race SBC parts at auctions and selling at swap meets.We where at a promotional event at The Empire Raceway park for one of those events.John was there to check out the track before the Empire Nationals and to help promote the event by racing a stock Chevy truck they gave him to drive and by signing autographs.Well my partner was taking a break setting in a lawn chair while I was manning the sales tables.John had a fire crash about a month before.Well John was going down the vendor rows shaking hands with the vendors.My partner has been with me for over 20yrs and knows how I "can be".He said he saw John threw the corner of his eye and thought OH NO!!!.John stuck out his hand with a little ego attached and said to me,"Hi I'm John Force".John's hand was still a little red from the fire.I naturally looked down and told John "Man you got no finger prints!!!."Well John stormed off withdrawing his hand.I hear from my partner Garyyyyyyyyy.Gezzzzzzzzz!!!!!.I was just kidding with him.Later at another meet I was chatting with Ashly(sp) his daughter and he walks up and remembered me.He says "you again".Pauses and waits so me to say something.Winks and then says I just want to bust on you for a minute to get even.Then laughs his butt off with me.John might be a loud mouth ego maniac,but the bottom line is he is truly a good guy.
I just really got into it last year. Every sunday night that the race is on, I'm at my uncle's watching it.I have turned into a huge fan.
Ashley Force Hood is my favorite FC driver and I will pull for the other Force cars.
Schumacher is my fav in TF. (I said last year I was going to be a fan for whoever wins the frist TF race I watched... of course... Schumacher!)
Jeg Coughlin Jr. is my fav in PS.
Andrew Hines is my fav in PSM.
Yeah John is a funny guy. He is definately the icon of the sport. Was that that after his wreck at Texas in 07?
