Unhappy Carb Problems

Hi guys new to the forum, have had my share of chevys but now got into the engine upgrades and I'm stuck. Started withe the 245 hp 1971 Monte carlo, put in a VooDoo cam(219/224 @ .050 lift), edelbrock performer intake dual plane, GM Performance heads 62cc, and a edelbrock 1406 carb(600cfm). When I did all these upgrades the car just did not seem to run right so, I called the performance center where I got he heads and they had told me to go up to an 750cfm, edelbrock.

Well the problem is that when I get on it , does not like it. The car just loses power and I have to let off the gas and get back in it. I thought that maybe the engine need more gas in the intake so I got the metering kit from edelbrock and richened the carb. Did not help if any thing may be a little better in the cruise band but not off the line.

I do not have a stall converter in the car yet, bought a 2500 avg. hughes perf. one to go in. Will this get rid of the flat off the line that I am getting?
