I am in the process of replacing front pads and rotors. After removing all parts, I spun the front wheel hubs. They seem not easy spinning and not as smooth as I would think. I would imagine if you give it a spin, it should spin freely and butter smooth? The van is a 2003 and has 86k. I'm just wondering since all parts are off and easy to access front hub/bearing assy, should I replace them? They are not cheap.. about $170 each!
Thanks

The one thing you don't want to hear is metal grinding. If you hear metal grinding then yes you should replace the hub assembly. If it just seems a little stiff but smooth I wouldn't worry about it.
I ended up going to the auto parts store for some grease for the grease gun and talked to them about it. They actually had an assembly in stock, and it is very stiff to turn even new. I felt much better and finished my brakes without worrying about hub/bearing assy. Hoping to get a bunch more miles.. they are not cheap!
