I notice this am the lights and instrament panel lights are flickering. Also noticed the battery gauge would drop to aprox 12amps. Seems to happen mostly when off the gas.
anyone have any ideas on where to start? I'm guessing battery or Alt. I know which ever I replace first will be the wrong one. anyone else have this same issue?
Thanks!

I recently got this...
lights dim when I step on brakes or reverse. I also had my rear wiper move and repark.
Voltmeter needle moved back and forth.. and my radio buzzed a little.
When I parked- and tried to restart- batterty was dead. only clicking.
There was no indication before the above dimming etc... just suddenly happened.
I went to the auto parts and got a new battery- it started right up. no problems since.
You may want to check the terminals too... make sure theyre tight and no acid leaks.
I took to autozone, they said battery was ok and actually said Alt was ok but then said the lights did dim a lot when they put a load on it and it shouldn't have dimmed so much. He said he would start with alt and also check all connections. He seemed pretty positive it wasn't the battery since it was doing this while running at speed. He said act like Alt stopped charging briefly.
We had an issue with the lights dimming when going around turns, and all it was was the black fuse\panel box on the drivers side under the hood was loose.....tightened the screw and wah-lah!
