Default Oil Dipstick

After draining my oil, I put six quarts of oil in my '04 Chevy Trailblazer (V6), started the engine for 1-3 minutes, checked the reading on the dipstick and found that it reads full. However, the owner's manual states that 7 quarts are needed. Am I not reading the dipstick correctly? The line beneath the "F" is the full mark, correct?
