Default Bad Module

We had this problem in our Tralblazer last year. It is a module under the hood, we got it from the dealership. Cannot remember the name, but my husband called the dealership service dept. explained the problem and before they hung up the part was ordered. (I think about $80.00, but not certain) My husband easily replaced it himself. This blew without warning, working fine the night before but the next day....I left to go to work about 430 am in a snowstorm, and had to drive the whole way using highbeams - blind as a bat.

your headlight relay is bad.
theres a relay for the lows and the highs.. in this case the low beams relay has failed.

to verify that its the relay...
pop the hood- open the fuse box (refer to your manual).
pull out the relay for the low beams-- reinsert--- see if the lights come on... if they dont...
then right next to that one--- is the relay for the fan clutch--- same part #... pull that out and put it into the spot for headlights...
if they come on-- you have a bad relay...

In an emergency - like on a dark road...you can operate the car without the fan clutch relay (assuming its not 120 degrees outside)... simply swap the relays and get home ... next day visit the dealer and buy the part...
