If you have a Tahoe, it will likely be attached ot the EVAP canister near your gas tank. I have attached a few images that should help you locate it:

Service Manual's description of EVAP System

Hope this helps!!

Default p0449

Could this sensor have any thing to do with rough idle. Or hard starting. Making the engine die at idle intermittently.

Welcome to the forum.

I doubt it since it is in the evap. emission loop. Could be dirty injectors, dirty throttle body, dirty idle air control. Try running a couple of bottles of Techron thru it.

Default On Track - ?? P0449

Guys,

I have looked at the threads and wanted to ask for your help! I have a Chevy Avalanche 2007 with the P0449. Looks like it is either a gas cap ($35) at Pohanka Chevrolet (not likely), or the EVAP Canister Vent Valve ($42). Both in stock. They do not have a manual but highlighted Helm Inc. adn 1-800-782-4356 to get it.

anyway, I will inspect the gas cap. Should I replace it either way. In other words, can there be a problem that's not visible.

I am not a mechanic by any means. Is the EVAP Canister Vent Valve easy to replace?

thanks and nice forum.
