Default 1967 caprice 283 2 barrel carburetor choke??

Hello Guys Just bought a 67 caprice with the original 283 v8 engine. It has the original 2 barrel rochester carburetor but a manual choke? There is a knob inside the car that you pull the wire to open the choke and push to close. Does this sound original? The radio is missing and the knob for the choke was mounted in one of the radio knob holes. Also a vacuum hose on the rear of the carb is tied in a knot?? Car runs lousy and backfires through carb when I rev it up. Idles nice though.. Thanks in advance!! Nel Register today for free or log-in if already registered to remove this ad!
