I am looking at getting a suspension lift for my truck. I have already ordered a pair of 1.5 inch Daystar coil spring spacers, but am wanting a little bit more lift. I am looking at the 2" Suspension Lift Kit for 2 wheel drive for $185.99.The lift is a Rough Country 2" Suspension Lift and it comes with front coil springs, ball joint spacers, and rear blocks with U-bolts Is this a good price? How well do these lift kits hold up?? Will I have to do anything else to the truck in addition to the lift? I've heard that if you go above a 2" lift that you will need new upper control arms. Will that affect me any since the lift is 2 inches+ the 1.5 coil spring spacer? Could I put the coil spring spacers on top of the new springs? Thanks for your help!!

To answer you question yes, you can run the spacer along with the coil springs, but the front of your truck will be sitting an inch and a half higher than the rear. Does this kit come with shocks?
No, the kit does not come with shocks. I will probably buy some of those later. If I put the lift+the 1.5 coil spring spacers on, could I just buy a 1" block and put in the back? That way the front would only be .5 inches taller than the back. So the the total lift for the front then would be 3" and the back would be 2.5". Would the difference be noticeable at all?? What size tires could I run with the lift?? Thanks for all of your help!!
Thomas
The stock tire size is P235/75/15

Your not going to be able to run stock shocks with the kit w/ or w/o the spacer, BUT if your talking about this lift - 2" - Then it already comes with the shocks you need w/o the spacer. With the spacer you may have to get different shocks. Contact rough country, the shocks they supply with the kit may support another inch or so.
Also, although it is not advised that you run two blocks on top of each other you can do it.
What would happen if I ran two blocks on top of each other? It would be one 2" block and one either 1" or 1.5" block. Could I do anything else to raise the back that extra 1.5"? What would your suggestion on shocks be? I've heard really good things about Bilsteins, but I don't really know anything else about the other brands of shocks.
Like I said you can run two blocks on top of each other, it's just not the standard way of lifting the rear.
Another option would be to get the 2" lift w/o the shocks and rear blocks, get the 2" blocks that usually come with their 4" kit and the shocks as well. The rear will sit a half an inch higher but will be hardly noticeable. You'd be set all the way around.
If you don't want the rough country shocks then yes Bilsteins would be perfect.
Either way you can contact rough country and ask them what the shocks they supply with the 2" kit can handle.
If you go with the 4" kit shocks, I can't recall if 98's come with droop stops or bump stops but that is something that would have to be considered as well as you don't want everything drooping out too far if it relies on the shocks for stoppage, and you don't want to bottom the crap out of the shock because there is too much shaft travel. The most important thing would be bottoming out as the small amount of extra droop shouldn't really be effected by brake lines and such.
If all else fails or you don't want the hassle you may want to just not use the spacers and sell them.
First thing is first though, contact Rough Country and ask them about their shocks. Let them know what you plan on doing and see what they say.
So would the 2" suspension lift level the truck out as well as lift it? The only reason I wanted to use the spacers too was to level the truck out and get an extra inch or so of lift. But I may not use them if it's going to be too much trouble to go through. If I get the 2" lift kit, and didn't use the spacers, could I do anything to get that extra inch of lift?

If all your going for is to level out the truck throw the spacers in there and be done with it. lol
The 2" lift will level out your truck as well as lift it yes, so you won't need that extra inch. Unless you want the front of your truck an inch higher than the rear.
