Default Help wiring problem DLC

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban 5.3 gas. The instrument died after several off and on flutters in gauges. Nothing works except check eng. light and message square. I tried 2 more clusters (same number) and they do not work either. Tried 2 dealerships and talked to several instrument cluster repair centers.Type 2 scanner "can not communicate with computer". They had no answers.

I checked all fuses (all locations) none blown and voltage present both sides of fuses. I found several wires chewed on under stack fuse box under the hood. None were chewed into and only two appeared like they may have touched together. No signs of sparking or arching. Repaired the wires.

I have voltage at instrument cluster plug on Pins A4, A9, A10, B6.
I have ground to frame and bat. cable at Pins A6 and A8.
I have voltage at DLC pin 16 and grd at Pin 5.

I have continuity from DLC 5 to cluster plug A8 and blk. w/white strip wire at 1st multiwire plug at PCM? (black box under steering column with three multiwire plugs) also continuity from these plugs to frame grd. and neg. bat.post.

***Problem?? I also found that Pin 5 at DLC has voltage present with Ign. switch on.

When I run a jumper wire from Pin 5 DLC (black w/white strip wire) to frame the instrument cluster come alive. Everything works.

Could I have a short or open circuit in the PCM ?? black box under column?

I am operating with this jumper wire and everything works.
Any suggestions??

I found no other bare wires or loose grd. connections.

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forum Paul!

I had a cluster problem but the dealer replaced the whole thing under warranty, I am surprised the dealer did not know what to do, Id try a different dealer. It soulds like your on it, you have checked everything I would have checked.
