Default Need engine info

Ok so here is my problem.... I bought a 350 that I know came out of a 70's vette. What I don't know is if it was original to the car or if it may have been a donor at some point before. These are all the numbers that I have found on it:

ID code ( I think anyway)- T1002CMR

Vin Code( again ?)- 14P438897

Casting date- H23 73

Casting #- 3970014 (looks like 0814 but i cant find a ref for that so I assume 0014 is correct)

Also on a side note I am wondering what the T1 and Conv 2 stamps represent

Thanks, Daniel

Welcome to the Chevrolet Forum. You might post this over on our sister forum: Corvette Forums. http://www.corvetteforums.com There are some folks there that might be able to answer your question.

Look at this link with the casting numbers:

www.mortec.com

Well honestly that link wasn't much help.It showed it to be a block from 1970 to 1976 either a 2 bolt or four bolt main.I'll keep looking.......

This link does include Corvette as a possibility given that casting number:

http://www.ajgeneral.com/sbc_block_casting_numbers/

It would be a late 1972 200 hp as a two bolt main,255 hp as a four bolt main.
