Question Gas tanks ???

hey boy's.i got here is a 1987 gmc 3/4 tonne 4x4.I put a 1987 454 V8 drive train in it out of a 1 tonne dualie. The 454 is carb and the 3/4 tonne had a fuel injected 350.So heres my question to ya's.As you may know the 3/4 tonne had the 2 tanks witch ran down each side of the truck.I want to eliminate the 2 tanks and go with a single tank.Either figure out a way to rear mount one or go with one in the box.If i have to go with the box choice will it stand up to the mud and off road abuse i built the truck for.any opinion will be great. Thanks Register today for free or log-in if already registered to remove this ad!

For serious off roading I would go with the bed mounted tank, if you mount it securely it will stand up under almost any conditions.

bed mounted george ..do you mean mount right inside the bed?i do some fairly narly trails and mine is mounted in the rear not the bed and it does just fine...besides the normal scartches from rolling over rocks....i do like the idea of having it in the bed for easy access

Just following the logic in a lot of rock crawlers and Baja trucks, underneth would work fine but he asked.

Glad to hear it's not just me, when I work on an axle and 90 weight, it goes right to my head.
